This hill or dune is situated in the Northern part of the Amber Museum park. It is a relict dune, and was marked on all the larger maps already in the XVII century as the highest dune of Palanga’s coastline.
In the area of several hectares, there are 40 exhibits with natural-sized, moving and roaring prehistoric animal models. You can view the dinosaurs without any rush in about an hour, but this is just a part of the park's entertainment.
This is the central street of the town. Previously this street was called Tiškevičiaus street or boulevard. In the summer of 1923, Dr. Jonas Basanavičius visited Palanga. In respect of the nation’s patriarch, the residents of Palanga renamed Tiškevičiaus boulevard using J. Basanavičiaus’s name.
The first small wooden Catholic church was built at the initiative of the queen Ona Jogailaitė around 1540 in Palanga. Another cross-shaped church with a tower and a bell tower was built in 1590 at the initiative of the then Lithuanian rulers.
It is hard to image Palanga without its Sea Bridge. The view of the dunes, beaches and endless sea expanse opens from the bridge. Here you can listen to the sough of the sea, cries of the seagulls and to watch the sun go down.

It is interesting to look at the city from up high and admire many colours of the panorama. You can do this in Kaunas by going up the Aleksotas Hill in one of the oldest functioning funiculars in Europe or from the roof of the Christ’s Resurrection Church.
